The Community Information Tools form part of the Community Toolkit. The Tools can be used in conjunction with the other elements of the Toolkit to help your community group help itself to achieve its goals and objectives. Tools within the information section include plain English advice and guidance notes which aim to provide local groups with self help information on a range of management and technical topics linked to running community projects and community groups such as advice on: how to prepare a feasibility study; demystifying business plans; and what makes a successful voluntary committee; working with consultants; employing staff etc. All this information is supplemented by a large "signposting" section which shows community groups where to access other sources of local and national self help information for general and specific community support. As well as self help support advice notes the Toolkit's Information section contains listings of local consultants who have experience of working for community groups to help them develop and manage different aspects of local projects. Advice about employing consultants and sources of funding to help pay for consultant contracts is also included in this section. For more Advice and Guidance see our Further Advice page.
