The Gannochy Trust

The Gannochy Trust was founded in 1937 and provides donations only to organisations in Scotland.

There is an obligation to show preference for charities in Perth and it environs, but the Trust welcomes applications from elsewhere in Scotland

What the funding is for

The prime objects of the trust are the needs or youth and recreation, but the Trustees are not restricted to these kind of projects.

Under the correct circumstances any project in the categories listed in the key words section below could be eligible.

How much funding is available?

There is no stated minimum or maximum.

Who can apply?

Registered Charities only.

When to apply?

Applications are accepted throughout the year and considered at regular Trustees meetings.

How to apply?

Applications must be in writing. Only one application per charity will be considered in any twelve month period.

Applications should be submitted on two sides of A4 and should include:

  • A general statement on the objects of the applicant’s charity
  • The specific nature of the application
  • The estimated cost and how it was arrived at.
  • The contribution of the applicant’s charity towards the cost.
  • The contribution of others, actual and promised.
  • Estimated shortfall.
  • Details of previous appeals to the Trust – whether accepted or rejected.
  • A copy of the latest audited accounts including information on any committed or uncommitted reserves.
